Cell Phone E-Mail Setup

Black Berry

 

1)    Go to the main screen of the Blackberry
2)    Select Setup
3)    Select E-mail settings
4)    Select "Add an existing email account"
5)    Select "Other"
6)    Type in e-mail address and password (Milligan network password)
7)    Will receive an error about being unable to set up account
8)    Choose "I will provide the settings..."
9)    Choose that it is a personal e-mail account (not Outlook or Outlook Express)
10)   Choose "I will provide the settings..."
11)   Type in account information - Milligan network logon ("academic\" is not required).  You password should already be filled in from the previous steps.
12)   For server, specify imap.milligan.edu
13)   You should receive a message stating that the account was created successfully.
14)   You will have a new icon for you Milligan email on the Blackberry’s main page.  Going there, you should see a message from Blackberry stating that you should start receiving your email from your Milligan account within about 20 minutes.

 

IPhone or IPod touch

 

1.  Press the Home button.
2.  Press Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Accounts... > Microsoft Exchange.
3.  Enter your email address in the Email field.  Your email address is YourUserName@Milligan.edu

4.  Enter MC.edu into the Domain field.
5.  Enter your username in the Username field.
6.  Enter your password in the Password field

7.  Enter a something that you can recognize the e-mail account with, then press Next.
8.  You will receive the message, "Unable to Verify Certificate." (This is normal.)

9.  Press Accept.
10.  A field labeled Server will appear below Email.
11.  Enter owa.milligan.edu into the Server field.
12.  Press Next.
13.  You will receive the message, "Unable to Verify Certificate," a second time. (This is normal.)

14.  Press Accept.
15.  You will now be asked what information you would like to synchronize between your iPhone and Exchange. Refer to the information labeled, "Synchronization Choices," above. We recommend synchronizing calendar and mail.
16.  You will receive another message stating "Unable to Verify Certificate". This is OK, press Accept.
