Milligan College Green Room
Project
Can you identify the following quotes?*
“The course of true love never did run smooth.”
“My, isn't the moonlight terrible?”
“Facts are the enemy of truth.”
“Do you think there's someplace where we can meet that's not in silence and
not in sound?”
“And when we stand before God, and you are sent to Paradise for not doing
according to your conscience, and I am damned for not doing according to
mine, will you come with me, for fellowship?”
These
are all lines from plays presented by Milligan College’s theatre department,
whose past directors have included Marguerite Parris, Ira Read,
Rosemarie Shields and others. A theatre alumnus myself, I had the
pleasure of studying under some of these people; and since 1985, I have had
the privilege and honor of working with hundreds of Milligan students,
faculty and staff in the College’s theatrical endeavors.
As you are probably aware, Milligan is in the process of constructing a new convocation center, which will be home to a state-of-the-art, 300-seat theatre, complete with proscenium stage, fly lines, orchestra pit, trap room, scene shop and much more! A long time in coming, we are very excited about the academic, artistic and cultural opportunities this addition will present to both our award-winning theatre program and to local and regional audiences.
To help dedicate and equip this space, we are inviting all past theatre participants to make a donation. Your contribution will not only allow us to preserve some of the College's history but will also serve to underwrite a portion of the expense involved in bringing our new theatre to life.

P.S. Opportunities also exist at the $500 level and above to purchase a seat or to name space in the new theatre. More information about this will be available in the coming months, or you may contact Bill Greer at 800.447.5922.
