about the Goah Scholars Program
U.S. citizens or permanent residents that are traditional undergraduate students. Applicants must be first time students at Milligan College. Candidates should enhance the cultural education of all students by broadening the diversity of our student body across various dynamics.
When is the deadline?
The priority deadline for receiving applications is December 1st. However, applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all available scholarship awards have been awarded for that school year.
What are the academic requirements?
Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 (unweighted) or a 21 ACT/980 SAT score to apply.
Is an interview required?
Yes, an interview is required with the Goah Scholarship Committee.
Can athletes apply?
Yes, however they must first talk to their respective coach at Milligan College to discuss financial aid eligibility.
Do you have to live on campus?
Yes, all scholarship recipients are required to live on campus.
Can transfer students apply?
Yes, transfer students are eligible to apply and must meet the college GPA requirement for transfers (2.75).
What is covered under the scholarship?
The scholarship covers full tuition (this excludes books, room, board, and fees). Please note that total institutional aid will not exceed tuition charges; this includes combining the Goah Scholarship, athletic scholarship, and any other merit aid for which the recipient may be eligible. Is the scholarship renewable?
Yes, the scholarship is renewable for a total enrollment of four years (8 semesters max), provided each recipient maintains the academic requirements, satisfactory participation in the diversity program and activities, and conduct expectations. Click here for specifics.
Can outside scholarships, grants, and loans be used to cover unpaid balances? Yes
Can current Milligan College students apply for the scholarship?
Does the scholarship cover graduate school or summer school?
Can the scholarship be used to cover cost associated with study abroad programs, class trips and or tours, and special fees for courses?
