2005: During her freshman campaign, Degen was named to the AAC All-Freshman team. She averaged 4.7 digs per game, which led the Lady Buffs. With her 4.7 digs per game, Degen ranked fourth in the AAC, as a freshman. Her season high, 39 digs was against Asbury College. She was named the AAC Libero of the Week on September, 27. In the two matches during the week, she averaged 4.9 digs per game as the Lady Buffs defeated Bluefield College and King College.

High School: At Farragut High School, Degen played for head coach David Moore. She was named to the All-District Tournament team and a member of the All-District Best Defense team. Farragut reached the State Tournament in 2002 & 2003.
