MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (September
28, 2005)---The Milligan College men’s
soccer team defeated the visiting
Pikeville (Ky.) College Bears by a score
of 13-0 on Wednesday night at Anglin
Field.
Sophomore Kyle Wilcox
(Indianapolis, Ind.) got the scoring
stared in the 7th minute with
an assist from junior David Lilly
(Coatbridge, Scotland).
Lilly also assisted Milligan’s next two
goals; one to sophomore Kofi Frimpong
(Kumasa, Ghana) in the 8th
minute, and another to sophomore
Michael Negussie (Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia) in the 16th minute.
Stuart Makinson
(Franklin, N.C.) added to the lead in
the 22nd minute with an
assist from Kyle Wilcox.
David Lilly added two goals of his own
to stretch the Milligan advantage with
assists from Josh Stephens
(Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) and Justin
Ciralsky (Plainfield, Ind.).
Sophomore Lee Schweizer (Mahwah,
N.J.) closed out the first half scoring
in the 44th minute with
another assist credited to Stephens.
The 7-0 halftime lead continued to grow
in the second half with two goals apiece
from sophomore Niikotey Ashie
(Rockledge, Fla.) and freshman Bryan
Mand (Sylva, N.C.). Ashie was also
credited with an assist in the second
half.
Josh Stephens and Johnson City’s Andy
Ross also added second half goals.
With the victory, Milligan improves to
7-4 overall, and remains 4-1 in the
Appalachian Athletic Conference.
Pikeville falls to 0-7 in its inaugural
season.
Milligan will continue its season
Friday, Sept. 30, at home in an AAC
match up with Bluefield College. That
game will begin at 3 p.m.
