Barnes' double-double leads Milligan to victory over Ohio University-Chillicothe

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (December 4, 2005)---The Milligan College men’s basketball team defeated an undermanned Ohio University-Chillicothe Hilltoppers by a score of 84-62 on Sunday afternoon at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

Jeff Barnes (Franklin, Tenn.) led all scorers with 19 points, including 12 in the first half, and added to his big day with 10 rebounds.

Tyler Estep (Limestone, Tenn.), and Adam Hughes (Bluff City, Tenn.) chipped in 10 and 12 points respectively coming off the Milligan bench.

Adrian Harrison (Greensboro, N.C.) contributed six points and nine rebounds.

Milligan led by a score of 48-31 at halftime, and shot 45% from the floor for the game. The Buffs also hit 79% of their free throws, going 11 of 14 from the line.

With the victory, Milligan improves to 3-5 on the season, and remains 0-4 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. OUCH falls to 5-4 overall.

The Milligan men will resume action at home on Tuesday, Dec.6, versus conference foe Bluefield College. That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
