Buffs defeated 80-69 by King

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (November 29, 2005) --- The Milligan College Buffaloes suffered an 80-69 defeat Tuesday evening by King (Tenn.) College in Appalachian Athletic Conference action at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. The Buffs now stand at 2-4 overall and 0-3 in AAC play while King is now 3-2 in the AAC and 6-3 overall.

King held a slim 38-34 lead at halftime and pushed the lead out to twelve points with ten minutes left in the game.

Milligan tried to battle back, and with 1:10 left in the game, the Buffs’ freshman guard Tino Washington (Lexington, Ky.) drove to the basket with a lay up. After his basket, the score was 76-67, in favor of King, and Milligan head coach Tony Wallingford called a time out to try to make a comeback late. The comeback was not enough as King held on for the AAC win.

The Buffs were led by junior Adrian Harrison (Greensboro, N.C.) with a game high 20 points. Sophomore guard Seth Jervis (Kingsport, Tenn.) scored ten points, all in the second half, and freshman forward Jeff Barnes (Franklin, Tenn.) added 11 points for Milligan.

King was paced by Nick Pasqua with 17 points while Derek Linkous and RuShaun Reeves added 13 points each. Jonathan Woodward and Josh Edwards scored 12 points apiece.

Next for the Buffaloes is a home AAC battle with Virginia Intermont College on Friday, December 2. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse after the Lady Buffs game against Virginia Intermont.
