Cannon and Whitlock sign with Milligan

Milligan College, TN (May 30, 2003) - The ink was flowing Friday afternoon on Warrior Hill where two Happy Valley High School baseball players put their name on the dotted line.

Warrior catcher Cody Cannon, who had 27 hits, 3 homeruns, 31 RBI's and a batting average of .386 will stay close to home and sign with Milligan College.

He'll be joined by teammate and outfielder Cody Whitlock, who stole 15 bases and had 11 hits, with a .333 batting average.

Milligan head baseball coach Danny Clark made the announcement.

Cannon and Whitlock join a collegiate team that finished 16-8 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and advanced to regional play to finish their season 34-21. Since 1995, Milligan athletic teams collectively have won more than 17 conference titles and qualified for 14 national championship tournament berths.
