Milligan signs baseball standouts

Milligan College, TN (May 30, 2003) - Milligan College baseball head coach Danny Clark has signed several players in recent weeks, including JP Penland of Morristown East High School, Morristown, Tenn.; Rodney Sells of Daniel Boone High School, Gray, Tenn.; and Alex Della Mora of DunBarron High School, Ontario, Canada.

Sells had the sixth highest batting average in the big seven conference and led the league in triples.

Penland, Sells and Della Mora join a collegiate team that finished 16-8 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, won the AAC tournament and advanced to regional play before finishing their season 34-21. Since 1995, Milligan athletic teams collectively have won more than 17 conference titles and qualified for 14 national championship tournament berths.
