Milligan College Women's Soccer Sign Five

The Milligan College Women's Soccer Program is proud to announce the signing of five players for the 2003 season. Kristin Zutt, Lindsey Harrison, Katie Ketchum, Megan Elrod and Laurie Selman have all signed with Milligan College, as announced by Dave Dixon, Head Women's Soccer Coach on Monday May 5.

Kristin Zutt is from Louisville, KY, where she attended the Christian Academy of Louisville and played for Coach Gary Williams. Kristin also played for the Javanon Soccer Club and coach Charlie Garner. During her high school career Kristin received a long list of accolades. She was a 2-Time All State, 3-Time All Region, and a 4-Time All District player. Kristin also excelled academically being named Academic All State twice. Kristin was also a 4 year member of the Kentucky ODP program.

Lindsey Harrison is from Plano, TX, where she attended Plano Senior High School. Lindsey played her club soccer for Soccer America and Coach Dalton McGaha. Lindsey was a 2 Time All District performer during her high school career. Lindsey's club team competes in the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League, which is one of the most competitive leagues in the country. During her time with Soccer America Lindsey was named the Defensive MVP.

Laurie Selman is from Jackson, MS, where she attended Jackson Prep and played for Coach Jon Marcus Duncan. Laurie played club soccer with the Jackson Futbol Club and Coach Kevin Johns. During Laurie'e high school career her Jackson Prep team won 3 State Championships. Laurie was a 4 Time All State member. Her JFC team has won 6 State Championships and competed at the Region III Tournament 4 years.

Katie Ketchum is from Birmingham, AL and is a transfer from Belhaven College in Jackson, MS. Katie was a 3-year starter at Belhaven and was instrumental part in their 2001 National Quarter Final appearance. Katie attended Briarwood Christian School in Birmingham. She helped Briarwood win 4 State Championship, as they were ranked in the Nation throughout her career. Katie played club soccer for the Alabama Attack and Coach David Chenoweth.

Megan Elrod is from Louisville, Ky, where she attended the Christian Academy of Louisville and played for Coach Gary Williams. She also played for the Javanon Soccer Club for Coach Charlie Garner. During her high school career Megan received many honors and awards. She was a 2-Time All-State and All-District player. She also was a 2-time MVP of the CAL Invitational and the All A State Tournament. Megan was also a 4-time member of the Academic All-State team.

"I'm extremely excited about signing these players, they are going to bring a lot to our campus and our soccer program" Coach Dixon said.

Milligan returns 12 players from last years team that went 18-5 and finished second in the Regional Tournament, one win away from a return trip to the National Tournament.

"It is our goal to get back to the National Tournament and compete for a Championship, each one of these girls will play a major role in that process," Says Coach Dixon.

Milligan is expected to announce another list of recruits in the next couple of weeks.
