Shelton inks with Milligan

Milligan College, TN--- Candace Shelton, a standout forward from Unicoi County High School, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball next season for the Lady Buffs of Milligan College. Coach Rich Aubrey made the announcement.

Shelton led the Blue Devils to a Watauga Conference, District 1-AA and Region I-AA Championships during her senior campaign. Her team finished with a 29-4 overall record under the coaching of Glenn Fisher.

Shelton tied for the team lead averaging over 10 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest. She shot a very impressive 51.6% for the field.

Shelton was an All-Watauga Conference and All-Region performer in her senior season. She was also voted "Most Dedicated" by her teammates.

"We have grown to respect Candace as a person and as a player. We expect her to play in the paint and on the perimeter. She has a solid inside game, but we also like her ability to shoot the ball from medium range. Her versatility on both ends of the court will be an asset to our team next season," say Aubrey.
