Dobyns-Bennett Snapp signs with Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (May 28, 2003) - Beth Snapp of Kingsport, Tenn., has signed a letter-of-intent to enroll and play volleyball this fall at Milligan College. Milligan head volleyball coach Kim Hyatt made the announcement at an afternoon signing today.

Snapp is a four-year letterman at Dobyns-Bennett High School and has played club volleyball for the East Tennessee State University Junior Bucs. She is signing with Milligan as a defensive specialist and libero.

"We are very excited to have Beth on our team," said Hyatt, who previously coached volleyball at DB from 1996 to 2002. "She brings great depth to the team and her work ethic is incomparable. After coaching Beth at Dobyns-Bennett, I know of her outstanding ability, love for the game and the determination it takes to have a winning team."

Snapp joins a team at Milligan that has enjoyed a string of 20-win seasons in recent years. In 1996, the Lady Buffs seized the conference title and became the first team in the conference to compete in the national championship tournament.

Since 1995, Milligan athletic teams collectively have won more than 17 conference titles and qualified for 14 national championship tournament berths.
