Lady Buffs finish 1-2 at Virginia Tech Invitational

Blacksburg, VA---Milligan College freshmen Marta Zimon (Lodz, Poland) and Megan Lease (Camden, NC) cruised to an easy 1-2 finish in the women's 5000 meters at the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, VA.

Zimon, the NAIA Indoor 5000 meter Champion, crossed the line in 18:36 for the win. Lease finished 2nd in 18:38. Two Virginia Tech athletes rounded out the field of only four runners.

On the men's side, senior Ryan Starr (Bartlesville, OK) finished 3rd in the men's 5000 meters in 15:19, just 4 seconds off his personal best set two weekends ago at UT's Sea Ray Relays. Walk-on junior Evan Overbay ran a personal best in the 800 meters, and freshmen Chris Wright (Baltimore, MD) was the top Buffs finisher in the 800 and 1500 meter races.

In other track action, Milligan College assistant coach Catherine Berry finished third in the women's elite 1500 meters at the University of Oregon Invitational in Eugene. Berry, who competes for ASICS, ran a season-opening best time of 4:18.
