Lady Buffs earn NAIA national qualifiers at UT's Sea Ray Relays

Knoxville, TN -- On day one of the Sea Ray Relays, Milligan's freshmen duo of Marta Zimon (Lodz, Poland) and Megan Lease (Camden, NC) finished 7th and 16th respectively in the women's invitational 5000 meters at the University of Tennessee's Tom Black Track.

Competing against a high-caliber NCAA field which included athletes from Penn State, Tennessee, Michigan, West Virginia, and Northwestern, both women earned national qualifying marks for the NAIA Outdoor Championships held May 22-24 in Olathe, KS.

Zimon's time of 17:27.65 equals her personal best, and is currently the nations (NAIA) 2nd fastest time. Lease's time of 18:19.16 is a new outdoor personal best.

University of Michigan's Rebecca Walter won the race with a time of 16:38.18.
