______________________________________________________________________ Milligan sweeps Lees McRae

Milligan College, TN-Milligan uses solid pitching and timely hitting to defeat Lees McRae 9-1 and 8-2 in afternoon softball action.

Game 1

Brandy Waddle tossed a complete game allowing only three hits and one run. She raises her record to 7-4 on the season. She struck out four and walked one in six innings.

Shelby Banion led the way for the Lady Buffs going 4 for 4 scoring two runs and knocking in one. Carissa Ellis had two hits and scored two runs. Andrea Henriott also had two hits for the Lady Buffs.

The lone Lees McRae run scored in the sixth inning to break up the shutout.

Game 2
Andrea Henriott went 2 for 3 and scoring the game-winning run. She scored on Alyson Bowman's triple in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Lady Buffs retook the lead 3-2 and held on to an 8-2 victory.

Brandy Waddle picked up her second win of the day and her eighth of the season. She worked the first two innings and the last three innings for the win. Ashley Fine worked the middle two innings allowing both runs for Lees McRae.

The Lady Buffs improves to 11-5 and 8-0 in the conference. They will host Union College on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 PM.
