SPORTS NEWS RELEASE Sochalski had an impressive 37 stroke average this year for 9 hole matches and had a low score of 33. He won the 4th flight of the East Tennessee Amateur in 2001 and placed 3rd in the ETA 3rd flight in 2002. Sochalski also participated in the PGA Junior Tour in the summer of 2002 and qualified for the State Championship in Tullahoma, TN. He helped the Cyclones win the Dino Senesi Golf Classic in 2001 and the District 1 AA Championship in 2001. Sochalski, an excellent athlete, also wrestled for EHS where he finished 2nd in the region in 2001 and qualified for the State Tournament. Sochalski is looking forward to joining the Buffs. "I am excited to be playing golf at Milligan College for Coach Wallingford. He is a fine Christian man and a great coach, and I feel it is an honor that he has asked me to play golf at the college level for Milligan," Sochalski said. "I like Daniel's potential. He is a good athlete and a hard worker. He will continue to improve with experience. Beyond his golf game, I'm happy to have such a quality young man in our program," Wallingford concluded. Sochalski is the son of Steve and Debbie Sochalski of Elizabethton. He plans a major in business at Milligan. ###

College, TN--Daniel Sochalski, a senior golf standout at Elizabethton
High School has signed a letter of intent to enroll at Milligan
College and play golf for the Buffaloes. Milligan coach Tony Wallingford
made the announcement.
