Milligan Takes Runner-up Finish at AAC Golf Tourney
Two Buffs Earn All Conference

Kingsport, TN…The Milligan College men's golf team finished second today in the Appalachian Athletic Conference golf tournament held at the Cattails at Meadowview Golf Club in Kingsport. Milligan finished with a 4-man 54-hole total of 937, 8 strokes behind Union College who won the event with 929. Nine AAC teams competed in the event. Milligan held a one-stroke lead after the first 36 holes, but was unable to hold on.

Milligan placed two men on the all-conference first team. Blake Stewart, a senior from Chesterfield, MO finished in the top five with a 54-hole total of 227. His best 18-hole score was a first round 72.

Michael Morrell, a junior from Elizabethton, TN also made the all conference team with a 54-hole total of 234. Morrell's best 18-hole total was a second round 75. Other outstanding performers for Milligan included senior Todd Munsey (239), senior Jesse Boyd (240), and junior Nelson Caudill (241).

Milligan's first round total of 306 was a school record breaking the old record of 311 set in 1994 at Paris Landing State Park Golf Course in the NAIA District 24 tournament.
