Lexington's Ferguson Signs with Milligan College

Milligan College, TN - Scott Ferguson, former basketball standout at Bryan Station High School in Lexington, KY and recently at Cleveland State Community College (TN), has signed a letter of intent to attend Milligan College and play basketball for the Buffaloes. Milligan head coach Tony Wallingford made the announcement.

At Bryan Station, Ferguson was a three-year starter and two-year captain. He was consistently a team leader in assists and steals while averaging 12 points, 8 assists and 3 steals per game as a senior. Ferguson was an all-academic selection all three years as well. He helped lead Bryan Station to the conference regular season championship as a senior and district runner-up finishes as a sophomore and junior.

At Cleveland State CC, Ferguson was the team leader in assists and second on the team in steals while averaging 7 points and 7 assists per game as a sophomore. Ferguson finished 12th nationally among NJCAA players in assists and had single game career highs of 23 points, 15 assists, and 7 steals. He was selected to play in the Tennessee Junior College All-Star Game in Nashville in April 2003. Ferguson was also an all-academic selection both years at Cleveland State.

Milligan head coach Tony Wallingford is excited to have Ferguson in his program. "Scott is a pure point guard with outstanding quickness and play making ability. He makes his teammates better. In our up-tempo style of play, Ferguson will be a key player and a big asset to our team. He is an outstanding student and a quality person," Wallingford concluded.

Ferguson plans a major in accounting at Milligan and will begin classes in the fall. He is the son of Jennie S. Turner of Lexington, KY.
