______________________________________________________________________ Montreat scores late, defeats Milligan, 7-6

Black Mountain,NC--Montreat scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to defeat Milligan, 7-6. Milligan falls to 10-9 and 4-3 in the AAC.

Willie Jones singled in Matt Burrell and Reuben Smith to put Montreat ahead with two-out in the eighth inning.

Dustin Barrett worked into the eighth inning for Milligan to pick up the loss. He falls to 3-1 on the season.

He struck out nine and walked three. Only four of his runs were earned. The three runs scored in the eighth inning were all unearned. Todd Speas worked out of the jam in the eighth for Milligan.

Ben Whittemore led the Buffs with three RBI's. He went 1 for 3 with two walks. Scott Shealy scored two runs. David Rusaw had two hits in five at-bats.

Nathan Chandler broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth with a two-out single scoring Whittemore and Pat Gould.
Brian Kestler picked up the win for Montreat.
