Milligan blows out Bluefield

Bluefield, VA—Milligan scored early and often to savage the final game of the three series against Bluefield. Milligan won the finale, 17-5. Milligan improves to 20-13 and 9-5 in the AAC.

Ben Whittemore had a career day going 5 for 5 with three doubles and six RBI’s to lead Milligan to a season-high 23 hits.

Dustin Price went 3 for 3 with his fifth homerun of the season. He finished the game with 3 RBI’s. Freshmen David Rusaw went 3 for 4 with a RBI. Scott Shealy picked up two more hits to finish the series 6 for 13.

Jacob McAllister (2-1) pitched seven strong innings to pick up his second win of the season. He struck out four and walked two. Chris Shockley pitched the eighth for the Buffs.

Chad Morris picked up the loss for Bluefield. He allowed six runs in 2.1 innings for work.

Milligan will travel to Carson Newman on Monday to play a single game a 3:00.
