Cass City's Emmert Named to AAC All-Frosh Team

Milligan College, TN--Milligan College freshman basketball standout Craig Emmert, a 6'6 forward from Cass City, MI, was recently named to the first team of the Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Freshman Men's Basketball Team.

Emmert is a '01 graduate of Cass City High School where he was an all-state performer averaging 19 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior.

Emmert started 23 of 31 games for the Buffaloes as a freshman. He averaged 10 points per game and led the team in rebounds averaging 6.4 per game. Emmert was also the team leader in blocked shots with 36. He was impressive offensively shooting .475 from the field and .727 from the free throw line. Emmert had season highs of 26 points vs. Crown College (TN) and 13 rebounds vs. Belhaven College (MS).

Milligan College head coach Tony Wallingford is pleased with Emmert's progress. "Craig had an excellent freshman season. I love his work ethic, attitude, and receptiveness to coaching. He came to play everyday and battled against tough competition. I'm very excited about his potential," Wallingford concluded.

Emmert is a history/education major at Milligan and was a dean's list scholar in his first semester. He is also the men's basketball representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes planning committee.

Milligan College is located in Northeast Tennessee and is a member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference and the NAIA. The AAC is made up of 12 colleges and universities in Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Georgia.
