WISE, VA (February 13, 2007) --- The Milligan College women’s basketball team defeated UVa.-Wise by a score of 75-71 in a close game on Tuesday night in Wise, Va., in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest.

Rikki Baughman (Elizabethton, Tenn.) again led the Lady Buffs with 20 points, nine rebounds and two steals, while going eight-for-13 from the field and sinking all four of her freethrows.

The game was tied at 36 going into halftime, and was close the whole way through. Milligan was able to pull ahead in the finals minutes to grab the lead.

Brittany Kilgore (Kingsport, Tenn.) scored 14 points, Leah Anderson (Lexington, Ky.) scored eight points and collected five rebounds, Kara Monk (Harriman, Tenn.) scored nine points and Kaci Letterman (scored seven points, grabbed four rebounds and blocked two shots.

The win improves Milligan to 16-12 overall and 10-7 in the AAC.

The Lady Buffs will travel to Buena Vista, Va., on Thursday, Feb. 15, to challenge Southern Virginia University at 7 p.m.
