Lady Buffs top Montreat, 73-58
MONTREAT, NC (January 16, 2007) --- The Milligan College women’s
basketball team defeated Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) opponent
Montreat College by a score of 73-58 on Tuesday evening in Montreat,
N.C.
Leah Anderson (Lexington, Ky.) led the charge for the Buffs with
15 points, while Brittany Kilgore (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Rikki
Baughman (Elizabethton, Tenn.) added 12 apiece.
Baughman also added a career high 18 rebounds, en route to Milligan’s
domination in that category, snatching 50 boards to Montreat’s 27.
The Lady Buffs also shot 48 percent (26-for-54) from the floor and an
impressive 59 percent (10-for-16) from beyond the arc.
The victory improves Milligan’s record to 9-8 overall and 5-4 in the AAC.
The Lady Buffs will take on NCAA Div. II opponent Brevard College on
Thursday, Jan. 18, at home at 5:30 p.m.
