BREVARD, NC (January 11, 2007) --- The Milligan College women’s basketball team defeated NCAA Div. II Brevard College by a score of 77-57 on Thursday night in Brevard, N.C.

The Lady Buffs scored first, as Hali Sparks (Erwin, Tenn.) stuck in the first shot, and never looked back as they did not trail at any point in the contest.

Sparks finished with 11 points.

Leah Anderson (Lexington, Ky.) and Kara Monk (Harriman, Tenn.) each had a game-high 14 ponts, and Anderson added three steals while Rikki Baughman (Elizabethton, Tenn.) added nine points and eight rebounds.

Milligan shot an impressive 52 percent from the floor (26-for-50) en route to the victory.

The win improves the Lady Buffs to 7-8 overall. They remain 3-4 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

Milligan will return to the court this Saturday, January 13, at home against AAC rival UVa.-Wise at 5:30 p.m.
