MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 25, 2007) --- The
Milligan College men's and women's track teams
collected three more national qualifying marks
at the Virginia Intermont Indoor/Outdoor
Invitational this past weekend in Bristol, Va.
Junior Josh
Ferry (Bloomington, Ind.) qualified
in the men's 600 meters by virtue of his second
place finish in 1:21. Sophomore
Ashley Pearce
(St. Cloud, Fla.) and junior
Erika Fox
(Gambrills, Md.) earned national marks in
the 3,000 meters with times of 10:35 and 10:37
respectively. Pearce won the race with Fox
finishing second. Sophomore
Nicole Moore
(Boise, Idaho) finished third in the
3,000 in a new lifetime best mark of 10:54.
Junior
MacKenzie LaBonte (Port Charlotte,
Fla.), already has qualified for indoor
nationals in three events, continues to pile up
wins. She crossed the finish line first in both
the mile and the 1,000 meter run. LaBonte was
followed closely by teammates
Jacklyn Talbert
(Mt. Carmel, Tenn.) and
Kortney Goulds
(Johnson City, Tenn.) in both
events. Talbert finished second in the women's
mile with Goulds third, while Goulds finished
second in the 1,000 meter run and Talbert
crossed the line in third place.
Senior Jair
Collie (Johnson City, Tenn.) finished
fifth in the men's 800 meters and sophomore
Will Frye
(Pulaski, Va.) finished sixth in the 3,000
meter run.
The 2007 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National
Championship is scheduled for March 8-10 in
Johnson City's Memorial Center.
