MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (May 16, 2007) --- Milligan
College head swim coach
Ron Goehring
has added four more swimmers to the school’s
first intercollegiate team that will start
competing this fall.
Science
Hill High School’s
Taylor Duran
and Darcee
Kubisiak, Knoxville’s
Anna Goss
and Damien
Chambers from Asheville, N.C. all
signed with the Milligan swim program.
Duran
and Kubisiak were both captains at Science Hill.
Duran will compete in sprints and breaststroke
events. He recorded times of 23.65 and 51.70 in
the 50 and 100 yd freestyle events. In the 100
yard breaststroke, his best time is 1:11.87.
Kubisiak,
a five-time state championship qualifier, has
swum the 100 yard freestyle in 1:00.86 and the
500 yard freestyle in 5:50.07. In the 200 yard
individual medially, Kubisiak owns a personal
best of 2:27.45.
While at Science Hill, the duo was coached by
Chris Coraggio.
Goss
competed with the Knoxville Swim Club and coach
Adam Engle.
She will compete in the freestyle sprints at
Milligan. She will graduate from Berean
Christian High School.
Chambers, from Asheville High School, will swim
distance freestyle events, 500, 1,000 and 1,500
yards, while at Milligan. He was coached by
Kemp
and Ruth
Battle.

“I am excited to sign four quality swimmers from
the region, including two from Science Hill,”
said Goehring. “These four swimmers are going to
help start a new chapter in the history of
swimming at Milligan.”
The announcement of the newly formed Milligan
swimming team took place on January 24 at a
media event inside the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
Milligan formerly had a swimming club from 1977
to 1986 and competed against various club and
intercollegiate squads.
