WILLIAMSBURG,
KY (February 21, 2007) --- The Milligan College softball team
split a doubleheader with the Univ. of the Cumberlands in
Williamsburg, Ky., on Wednesday, with the Lady Buffs taking game
one by a score of 4-2 dropping game two by a score of 6-5.
Game One
The Lady
Buffs were led in game one by Megan Aldridge (Johnson
City, Tenn.) and Mallory Tincher (Jacksonville, Fla.) who
each went two-for-four in the game with two RBI.
Brooke Dowdy
(Bradenton, Fla.) went the distance on the mound for the win,
allowing just two runs and scattering seven hits.
Game Two
Milligan was
outdone in the second game, despite the efforts of Jennifer
Wise (Clermont, Fla.) who was two-for-three with two RBI,
Jessica Blevins (Elizabethton, Tenn.) who was one-for-one
with two RBI and Leah White (Gray, Tenn.) who was
two-for-four with an RBI.
Maegan Hambrick
(Lexington,
Ky.) took the loss for the Lady Buffs, allowing six runs, (four
earned) on four hits in four innings.
The split
moves Milligan’s record to 5-1 on the year.
Lady Buff
softball will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Tusculum
College, where they will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
