MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (May 7, 2007) --- The road to the NAIA Region XII Softball title and an automatic birth into the NAIA National Softball Championship begins Wednesday morning in Athens, Tenn. for the Milligan College Lady Buffs. Milligan enters the six-team tournament as the No. 3 seed and will play No. 6 seed Brescia (Ky.) University at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The winner between Milligan and Brescia will advance to play UVA-Wise, the No. 2 seed and co-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) champions, at noon while the loser has to wait until 5 p.m. for their next game in the losers’ bracket.

On the other side of the bracket, Virginia Intermont College, the AAC Tournament champions, will battle Spalding (Ky.) University, the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) regular season champions, at 10 a.m. The winner will play co-AAC regular season champion Union (Ky.) College at noon while the loser moves into the losers’ bracket game at 5 p.m.

After the two losers’ bracket games at 5 p.m., the winners’ bracket final and another losers’ bracket game will be played at 7 pm. to end play on the first day.

Thursday begins with the losers’ bracket final at 10 a.m. followed by the NAIA Region XII championship game at noon with an if necessary game at 2 p.m.
