Milligan College women’s
tennis team defeated
Covenant College
Saturday afternoon by a
score of 8-1. The Lady
Buffs swept doubles play
and took five out of six
points to earn the
Appalachian Athletic
Conference (AAC)
match-up.
Milligan’s record moves
to 3-5 overall and 1-1
in AAC play.
In women’s doubles,
Melissa Grgat
(Melbourne, Australia)
and Krissi Denton
(Bristol, Tenn.) won
their No. 1 match 8-1.
Victories from Sara
Hopson (Greeneville,
Tenn.) and Janie
Mullins (Greenville,
Ala.) in the No. 2
match, and Amber
Campbell (Erwin,
Tenn.) and Myra
O’Dell (Kingsport,
Tenn.) in the No. 3
match, would allow
Milligan to sweep
doubles play.
The Lady Buffs kept up
the momentum up in
singles play, taking
five out of six points
from Covenant to seal
the victory.
Milligan will host
conference rivals King
College for a match-up
on Apr. 3. at 2 p.m.
