The Milligan
College
softball
team
suffered two
losses
Wednesday at
the Savannah
College of
Art and
Design (SCAD)
Smash Hit
Softball
Tournament.
The Lady
Buffs were
defeated by
Malone
(Ohio)
College 5-4
and then
lost 7-1
against
Olivet
Nazarene
(Ill.)
University.
After
Wednesday’s
games
Milligan now
holds a 9-7
record.

Megan
Aldridge
(Johnson
City, Tenn.)
hit two home
runs and
drove in all
four of
Milligan's
runs against
Malone. Her
first home
run put the
Lady Buffs
in front 3-0
in the first
inning and
she added a
solo home
run in the
sixth
inning.
Her two home
runs also
broke the
Milligan
school
record for
home runs in
a career. So
far during
her senior
season she
has hit 17
homers as a
Lady Buff.
Kayla
Walker
(Tracy,
Calif.)
suffered the
loss on the
mound. She
pitched two
innings and
gave up
three runs
in her
relief
appearance.

Nazarene 7
The Lady
Buffs fell
behind early
to Olivet
Nazarene.
Olivet put
four runs on
the
scoreboard
in the third
inning and
added three
more in the
sixth
inning.
Milligan's
lone run
came in the
seventh
inning when
Melanie
Strickler
(Kingsport,
Tenn.) hit a
sacrifice
fly to right
field which
allowed
Walker to
score.
On the
mound,
Milligan's
Jennifer
Wise
(Clermont,
Fla.)
pitched a
complete
game and
allowed
seven runs
on nine
hits.
Wise and
Jessica
Blevins
(Elizabethton,
Tenn.) were
the only two
Lady Buffs
to get a hit
in the
contest.
The Lady
Buffs will
finish their
trip to the
SCAD Smash
Hit
Tournament
Thursday
evening.
Milligan
play against
No. 2
University
of Mobile
(Ala.) at 4
p.m. and
their last
contest is
against No.
11 SCAD at 6
p.m.
