Buffs tennis shut out in AAC opener

BARBOURVILLE, KY (March 21, 2007) --- The Milligan College men’s tennis team was shutout on Wednesday in their Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) opener by a score of 9-0 by Union College in Barbourville, Ky.

The win improved the Bulldogs to 6-3 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Buffaloes fell to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the AAC.

Juan Manuel Lorenzo put together a solid performance, winning his singles match against Tom Jones (Johnson City, Tenn.) by a score of 8-5. In doubles play, he teamed up with Pablo Costa to post an 8-3 decision over Johnathon Ryan (Wangaratta, Australia) and Charles Williams (Perth, Australia).

The Buffs will challenge Southern Va. University on Saturday, March 24, at 12 p.m. at Milligan College.
