SMYRNA,
TN (April 27, 2007) ---
Davis Warner, a 6-foot-6 senior forward at Smyrna
High School has signed a letter of intent to attend Milligan
College and play basketball for the Buffaloes.
Warner,
ranked among Tennessee’s top 45 players according to
Tennessee Prep Hoops Scouting Service, averaged 14 points, 9
rebounds and 4 assists as a senior. He was named to the
all-conference, all-county and all-district teams.
Milligan
head coach Tony
Wallingford is happy to have Warner join the
Buffs. “We really liked Davis’ versatility. He’s strong
around the basket while also possessing a nice shooting
touch from the perimeter. Davis is an excellent passer from
the forward spot as well.”
Warner
joins a Milligan team that finished this past season with a
22-9 record. The Buffs have won 8 conference championships
and made 3 national tournament appearances since 1990.
Wallingford has accumulated over 500 wins in 24 seasons as a
collegiate head coach and is Milligan’s all-time winningest
basketball coach.
“Davis is
a good fit for our program and style of play. He’s got a
load of potential and we look forward to working with him,”
Wallingford concluded.
Warner
will enroll in the fall and plans a major in business.
