MONTREAT, NC (January 16, 2007) --- The Milligan College men’s basketball team defeated Montreat College by a score of 83-78 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest on Tuesday night in Montreat, N.C.

Jeff Barnes (Franklin, Tenn.) paved the way for the Buffs, notching a double-double with 27 points and 14 rebounds, both game highs.

Milligan trailed 71-70 with just 3:23 left on the game clock, but four consecutive points by Tyler Estepp (Limestone, Tenn.) and two key blocks by Adrian Harrison (Greensboro, N.C.) put Milligan ahead 74-71. The Buffs did not trail again.

Danny McKeehan (Morrow, Ohio) turned in another big scoring night for Milligan with 21 points and Harrison added 14.

The win improves the Buffs to 14-5 overall and 7-2 in the AAC.

Milligan will return home to the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Thursday, Jan. 18, to take on NCAA Div. II Brevard College at 7:30 p.m.
