Buffs blast Brevard, 80-62
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (January 18, 2007) --- The Milligan College men’s
basketball team defeated NCAA Div. II opponent Brevard College by a
score of 80-62 on Thursday night at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. It is the
second time in a week that the Buffs grabbed a victory from Brevard.
Solid play from the backcourt got the Buffs out to a good start, as both
Zach Dezarn (Franklin, Ohio) and Danny McKeehan (Morrow,
Ohio) scored in the double digits in the first half. Milligan led by a
score of 43-32 at halftime.
Another quality shooting performance from Milligan extended the lead in
the second half. The Buffs shot 28-for-53 (53 percent) from the floor in
the game and 7-for-13 (54 percent) from beyond the three point arc.
Both Dezarn continued his scoring pace from the first half to finish
with a game high 20 points, while McKeehan finished with 13, Jeff
Barnes (Franklin, Tenn.) finished with 13 points and nine rebounds
and Adrian Harrison (Greensboro, N.C.) finished with a
career-high six blocks.
The victory improves Milligan to 15-5 overall on the season. Brevard
falls to 6-11 on the year.
Tennessee Wesleyan College will visit the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on
Saturday, Jan. 20 for an AAC contest beginning at 4 p.m. Tennessee
Wesleyan is 8-1 in the AAC and in a tie for first place with Bluefield.
Milligan is currently positioned in second place with their 7-2
conference record. Tennessee Wesleyan won the previous meeting this
season, 92-77, on Nov. 29, in Athens, Tenn.
