Buffs fall at No. 22 Bluefield
BLUEFIELD, VA (January 30, 2007) --- The Milligan College men’s
basketball team was defeated by a score of 86-74 on Tuesday night in
Bluefield, Va., by Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) leader, NAIA
Div. II No. 22 Bluefield College.
Jeff Barnes (Franklin, Tenn.) led the Buffs’ attack with 24
points and 11 rebounds, while Adrian Harrison (Greensboro, N.C.)
had 15 points and nine rebounds and Joe Brown (Blountville,
Tenn.) had ten points.
Milligan trailed by just two at halftime with the score standing at
45-43 and were down by only six with eight minutes to play. The
Bluefield attack proved to strong however, and the Buffs were unable to
forge a comeback.
The loss drops Milligan to 16-8 overall this season and 8-5 in the AAC.
The Buffs will take on AAC foe Bryan College at 7:30 p.m., on Saturday,
Feb. 3, in the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
