JOHNSON CITY, TN (March 28,
2007) --- Ben Treadway, a
senior golf standout from
Science Hill High School has
signed a letter of intent to
attend Milligan College and
play golf for the
Buffs. Milligan golf coach
Tony Wallingford made the
announcement at a ceremony
held at Science Hill.
Treadway was a main
contributor on coach
Josh Carter’s
Science Hill state runner-up
team in the fall season. He
also helped lead the
Hilltoppers to the Big-9
Conference, District 1-AAA
and Region 1-AAA
championships. At the
District 1-AAA Tournament,
Treadway finished third. He
finished the season with a
75 stroke average along with
a 2.9 handicap.
Wallingford
is happy to have Treadway
join the Buffs. “With three
of our top five golfers
graduating in May, we will
be counting on Ben to
contribute early in his
career. We like Ben’s golf
potential, but just as
important is the fact he is
a quality kid, an honor roll
student and a nice fit for
our program.”
Milligan won the 2004 and
2006 Appalachian Athletic
Conference Golf
Championships, and finished
second in 2005.
The Buffs were one stroke
away from a Region XII title
and a NAIA National
Championship tournament
appearance last season.
Treadway will enroll in the
fall and plans to major in
accounting.
