MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 26, 2007) --- The
Milligan College baseball team split a
doubleheader with Seton Hill (Penn.) University
on Monday, losing game one by a score of 6-1 and
bouncing back to take game two, 10-3.
Game One
Seton Hill took an early lead, getting a run
in the top of the first, then pushed the lead to
five with a four-run third inning. The Buffs
were unable to overcome the deficit.
Justin Sauceman (Alcoa, Tenn.) drove in
the lone run for the Buffs, scoring Garrett
Reed (Gray, Tenn.) late in the contest.
Adam Chapman (Jefferson City, Tenn.) took
the loss on the mound for Milligan.
Game Two
Milligan battled back behind a solid pitching
performance from senior Stephen Jarrett
(Gray, Tenn.) who went the distance, allowing
just three runs in the game.
A six-run fifth inning, in which the Buffs
batted around broke the game open. Hits from
Jeremy Dulgar (St. Cloud, Fla.), Ricky
Morgan (Johnson City, Tenn.), Danny Bacon
(St. Petersburg, Fla.), Baker DeCamp
(Miami, Fla.), Clint Dorman (Savannah,
Ga.), Todd Sangid (Johnson City, Tenn.),
Reed and Sauceman along with a sacrifice fly
from Cody Cannon (Elizabethton, Tenn.)
contributed to the big inning.
The split moves the Buffs’ record to 4-6 on the
season.
Milligan will travel to Mount Berry, Ga.,
Tuesday, Feb. 27, to challenge Berry College in
a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
