Game
1 Southern Wesleyan 7 Milligan 4
In
the opening game of the twin bill, Southern Wesleyan
jumped in front 3-0 after one inning. They would add
another run to their lead in the second, and three more
in the fourth inning.
Milligan answered with a run in the fifth inning when
Ben Huff
(Bristol, Tenn.) scored on a base hit from
Brandon Murphy
(Johnson City, Tenn.)
Neither team scored in the sixth inning, but the Buffs
mounted a comeback in the top half of the seventh
inning. Milligan put three runs on the scoreboard. Two
of the runs scored when SWU’s Jeff Vitaris committed an
error in center field on a ball hit by
Spencer Street
(Jonesborough, Tenn.) and brought the tying run to the
plate when Baker
DeCamp (Miami, Fla.) came to the plate with
runners on the corner, but he flied out to right field.
Sophomore Adam
Chapman (Jefferson City, Tenn.) suffered the
loss. He pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed four earned
runs on one hit with four walks.
To go
along with Murphy’s hit, DeCamp, Huff and

he gave up one run on four hits with four strikeouts.

the plate for SWU, Kellen Kmiecik went 2-for-2 and

each accounted for two RBIs.
Game
2 Southern Wesleyan 2 Milligan 1
A run
in the second inning gave Southern Wesleyan the lead and
another run in the fifth proved to be too much to
overcome for the Buffs.
Milligan would battle and they scored in the sixth
inning when Jonathan
Ridenour (Alcoa, Tenn.) drove in
Danny Bacon
(St. Petersburg, Fla.) with a sacrifice fly.
The
Buffs’ lone two hits came from Bacon and
Garrett Reed
(Gray, Tenn.).
On
the mound for the Buffs,
Nathan Fritz
(Kingsport, Tenn.) pitched a complete game and he gave
up two runs while scattering six hits with one
strikeout.

Hoogkamp pitched 5 1/3 innings of two-hit baseball and
he did not allow a run for the win on the mound.

and John Sciullo.

Friday and Saturday in a three-game series. The first
