GARDEN CITY,
GA (March 8, 2007) --- Justin
Sauceman’s (Alcoa, Tenn.) two-run home run helped
Milligan College defeat the Savannah College of Art and Design
baseball team 7-1 Thursday at Chain Field.
The Bees fell to 14-12 while the Buffs improve to 7-12.
Sauceman’s two-run homer to left off SCAD starter Richard
Sullivan (2-3) in the first inning gave the Buffaloes a 2-0
lead. SCAD got one of the runs back in the bottom half of the
inning on Matt Cox’s sacrifice fly; however, they would not get
any closer as the Buffaloes converted five SCAD errors into four
unearned runs.
Stephen Jarrett
(Gray, Tenn.) scattered eight hits and struck out three as he
pitched a complete game for Milligan.
The Buffs
will return to action Saturday afternoon when Appalachian
Athletic Conference (AAC) foe Bryan (Tenn.) College (10-7, 0-2
AAC) makes a trip to Anglin Field. The first game of the
doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
