MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (March
28, 2007) --- The Milligan
College baseball team swept
a twi-night doubleheader
with NCAA Div. III Maryville
College by scores of 9-5 and
3-2 on Wednesday at Anglin
Field.
The wins move the Buffs’
record to 15-16 overall and
drops Maryville to 19-9.
Milligan remains 6-2 in the
Appalachian Athletic
Conference (AAC).
Game 1: Milligan 9 Maryville

The Buffs found themselves
down by a score of 5-3
entering the bottom of the
sixth inning, but used a six
run frame that included a
three-run Ricky Morgan
(Johnson City, Tenn.)
homer to grab the victory.
Cody Cannon
(Elizabethton, Tenn.) went
2-for-4 in the game with a
double and a run scored,
Danny Bacon (St.
Petersburg, Fla.) was
2-for-3 with a run scored
and Justin Sauceman
(Alcoa, Tenn.) went 2-for-3
with a walk and a
first-inning homerun.
On the mound for the Buffs,
Jeremy Dulgar (St.
Cloud, Fla.) grabbed the win
in relief for Milligan and
Nathan Fritz
(Kingsport, Tenn.) pitched a
scoreless seventh protecting
the lead.
Game 2: Milligan 3 Maryville

The Buffs used a strong
starting performance on the
mound from senior Stephen
Jarrett (Gray, Tenn.)
who went six innings
scattering four hits and
allowing two earned runs in
the win.
Brett Seybert
(Columbiana, Ohio) tossed a
scoreless seventh inning to
record the save.
At the plate for Milligan,
Ben Huff (Bristol,
Tenn.) was 2-for-3 with two
runs scored, while
Brandon Murphy (Johnson
City, Tenn.), Spencer
Street (Jonesborough,
Tenn.) and Bacon collected
RBI.
Milligan will return to
conference play on Saturday,
March 31, in Bluefield, Va.,
against Bluefield College in
a doubleheader beginning at
1 p.m.
