BRISTOL, TN (March 18, 2007) --- With a key home run
in both games of an Appalachian Athletic Conference
(AAC) doubleheader the Milligan College baseball
team defeated rival King (Tenn.) College Sunday
afternoon. Milligan won the first game 3-2 then
completed the sweep with a 2-1 win. After the
doubleheader, the Buffs improve to 4-2 in the
conference and 10-15 overall while King falls to 2-4
within the AAC.

Trailing 2-0, Milligan took the lead behind a
three-run home run from
Brandon Murphy
(Johnson City, Tenn.) in the seventh inning.
Ben Huff
(Bristol, Tenn.) and
Todd Sangid
(Johnson City, Tenn.) were on base when Murphy
belted his first home run of the season to give the
Buffs the lead.
Senior right-handed pitcher
Brett Seybert
(Columbiana, Ohio) pitched a complete game for the
win. Seybert (3-2) allowed two unearned runs over
the nine innings on the mound as he scattered six
hits with five strikeouts.
Murphy finished the game 2-for-3 with his home run
and Sangid was 2-for-4.

With two outs in the fourth inning, Huff hit his
first home run of the 2007 season, a two-run blast
to give Milligan the lead.
Clint Dorman
(Savannah, Ga.) was hit by a pitch prior to Huff’s
home run to reach first.
Nathan Fritz
(Kingsport, Tenn.) also threw a complete game
victory against King. In his seven innings, Fritz
(2-2) allowed one run on four hits and struck out
ten.
Next for the Buffs is a trip to play NCAA Division
III Roanoke College on Thursday, March 22. The first
pitch of their contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. in
Salem, Va.
