MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (April 3, 2007) ---
Nathan Fritz (Kingsport, Tenn.) was
named the NAIA Region XII Pitcher of the
Week on Tuesday, to go along with the
Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC)
Pitcher of the Week honor he received on
Monday. This marks the second consecutive
week for Fritz to sweep the Region XII and
AAC Pitcher of the Week awards.
Fritz started the week with an inning of
shut-out relief against King (Tenn.) College
on Tuesday afternoon. He struck out one in
the appearance.
On Wednesday, Fritz threw another shut-out
inning in relief to help preserve Milligan’s
9-5 win over Maryville (Tenn.) College.
He ended the week with a complete game at
Bluefield (Va.) College on Friday evening.
In the seven-inning performance, Fritz
allowed two unearned runs on five hits and
struck out ten batters.
For the week, he threw nine innings and
allowed six hits and two unearned runs to
drop his ERA to 0.61, the best in the AAC.
His 11 strikeouts on the week give him 40
for the season, sixth best in the AAC.
Milligan will host Virginia Intermont
College for an AAC doubleheader Saturday,
April 7, at Anglin Field. The first game is
scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
