MILLIGAN COLLEGE,
TN (April 2, 2007) --- Junior
Nathan Fritz
(Kingsport, Tenn.) was named the Appalachian
Athletic Conference (AAC) Pitcher of the
Week for the second consecutive week on
Monday.
Fritz started the week with an inning of
shut-out relief against King (Tenn.) College
on Tuesday afternoon. He struck out one in
the appearance.
On Wednesday, Fritz threw another shut-out
inning in relief to help preserve Milligan’s
9-5 win over Maryville (Tenn.) College.
He ended the week with a complete game
victory at Bluefield (Va.) College on Friday
evening. In the seven-inning performance,
Fritz allowed two unearned runs on five hits
and struck out ten batters.
For the week, he threw nine innings and
allowed six hits and two unearned runs to
drop his ERA to 0.61, the best in the AAC.
His 11 strikeouts on the week give him 40
for the season, sixth best in the AAC.
The Buffs (17-17, 8-2 AAC) will host Berry
(Ga.) College Tuesday evening for a 4 p.m.
doubleheader at Anglin Field.
