with two
strikeouts
over the
eight
innings in
his first
collegiate
win. The
Buffs
improve to
6-11 while
Brewton-Parker
moves to
10-7.
To keep the
shutout,
Milligan
turned to
All-AAC
performer
Brett
Seybert
(Columbiana,
Ohio) to
pitch the
ninth
inning.
Seybert
allowed a
hit and a
struck out a
Baron batter
in the final
inning to
pick up his
first save
of the
season.
Milligan
scored their
first run in
the fifth
inning when
freshman
Danny Bacon
(St.
Petersburg,
Fla.) drove
in
pinch-runner
Drew Anders
(Johnson
City, Tenn.)
with a
sacrifice
fly to
center
field.
The sixth
inning saw
Milligan
extend their
lead over
the Barons.
Justin
Sauceman
(Alcoa,
Tenn.) led
the inning
off with a
single and
then he
advanced to
third base
after a wild
pitch and
passed ball.
A single
from
Todd Sangid
(Johnson
City, Tenn.)
brought
Sauceman
home to make
the score
2-0.
Clint Dorman
(Savannah,
Ga.)
followed
Sangid with
an infield
single.
Brandon
Murphy
(Johnson
City, Tenn.)
followed
with a
single of
his own
which
allowed
Sangid to
score the
final run of
the contest.
Murphy
finished the
contest
3-for-4 with
a RBI while
Dorman went
2-for-4.
Sangid was
1-for-3 with
a RBI and
run scored.
Sauceman was
1-for-4 with
a run of his
own.
