Milligan suffers setback at Virginia Intermont

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (January 28, 2006)--- The Milligan College Men’s Basketball team suffered an Appalachian Athletic Conference setback Saturday night 71-64 at rival Virginia Intermont College. With the loss the Buffaloes fall to 9-12 overall and 3-10 in the AAC.

 Milligan trailed the Cobras 34-32 at halftime. The Buffaloes first lead came with 9:30 remaining when a three pointer from Tino Washington (Lexington, Ky.) put Milligan on top 60-59. However the Cobras would outscore the Buffaloes 12-4 the rest of the way for the victory. 

Milligan was led by Tony Brogan (Tazewell, Tenn.) with 14 points. Freshman Jeff Barnes (Franklin, Tenn.) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Milligan also collected 21 offensive rebounds in out rebounding Virginia Intermont 39-31.

 The Cobras were led by Patrick Glenn with 19 points.

 Milligan will be back in action Tuesday evening, Jan. 31, at AAC foe Bluefield (Va.) College.  Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
