Buffs win convincingly 109-69

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (January 9, 2006)---The Milligan College men’s basketball team scored a decisive 109-69 victory over Northland Baptist Bible College (Wisc.) Monday evening at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. With the win the Buffs improve to 9-7 overall this season.

In the first half, Milligan jumped out to a 5-0 lead on a three pointer from Joe Brown (Blountville, Tenn.) and a field goal from Adrian Harrison (Greensboro, N.C.) and never trailed taking a 52-29 lead into the halftime break. Milligan shot 59 percent from the floor in the first half including 8-of-11 from behind the three point line. Junior Tony Brogan (Tazewell, Tenn.) led the team with eight points in the first half.

It was more of the same in the second half for the Buffs as they continued to push their lead. Behind the hot hand of Brogan and the muscle of freshman Cody May (Knoxville, Tenn.) the Buffs pulled away for an impressive 109-69 victory.

Brogan led the team with 27 points in the win. Josh Terry (Jonesville, Va.) also reached double figures adding 11 points of his own.  May had a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds in the contest.

Northland Baptist Bible College was led in scoring by Drew Scott with 17 points.

The Buffs will be back in action Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse for a contest against AAC foe Bryan (Tenn.) College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
