MILLIGAN
COLLEGE, TN (January
9, 2006)---The Milligan College men’s basketball team scored a
decisive 109-69 victory over Northland Baptist Bible College (Wisc.)
Monday evening at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. With the win the
Buffs improve to 9-7 overall this season.
In the first
half, Milligan jumped out to a 5-0 lead on a three pointer from
Joe Brown (Blountville, Tenn.) and a field goal from
Adrian Harrison (Greensboro, N.C.) and never trailed taking
a 52-29 lead into the halftime break. Milligan shot 59 percent
from the floor in the first half including 8-of-11 from behind
the three point line. Junior Tony Brogan (Tazewell,
Tenn.) led the team with eight points in the first half.
It was more
of the same in the second half for the Buffs as they continued
to push their lead. Behind the hot hand of Brogan and the muscle
of freshman Cody May (Knoxville, Tenn.) the Buffs pulled
away for an impressive 109-69 victory.
Brogan led
the team with 27 points in the win. Josh Terry
(Jonesville, Va.) also reached double figures adding 11 points
of his own. May had a double-double with 11 points and 14
rebounds in the contest.
Northland
Baptist Bible College was led in scoring by Drew Scott with 17
points.
The Buffs
will be back in action Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Steve Lacy
Fieldhouse for a contest against AAC foe Bryan (Tenn.) College.
Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
