--- Milligan’s
Hanna
Lovbrand (Orebro, Sweden) and
Dagmar Arnardottir (Kopvagur,
Iceland) scored two goals apiece in the
Lady Buffs’ 4-0 victory over Tennessee
Wesleyan College. The match, an
Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC)
contest, was played Wednesday in Athens,
Tenn.
Lovbrand scored the only goal of the
first half in the 39th
minute, with an assist from
Kristin
Zutt (Louisville, Ky.)
The first goal for Arnardottir came in
the 57th minute followed by
her second goal six minutes later. On
her first goal,
Beth
Toner (Rote, Pa.) provided
the assist while Lovbrand was credited
with the assist on her second goal in
the 63rd minute.
In the 68th minute, Lovbrand
scored her second goal unassisted.
Milligan out shot Tennessee Wesleyan
9-to-4 in the contest. Sophomore
Rosanna
Couture (Oakville, Ontario,
Canada) saved two shots in goal for
Milligan to preserve the shut out, her
fifth shut out this season.
With the win, Milligan improves to 3-3
in the AAC and 6-6 overall while
Tennessee Wesleyan falls to 4-6-1
overall and 2-4 in conference.
The Lady Buffs will travel to play NAIA
No. 3 Houghton College on Saturday,
October 7, in Houghton, N.Y. Milligan
