Lady Buffs advance in first round of AAC Tournament

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (October 24, 2006)---The Milligan College women’s soccer team defeated Tennessee Wesleyan College by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday night in frigid temperatures at Anglin Field to advance past the first round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament.

Dagmar Arnardottir (Kopvagur, Iceland) scored the game’s only goal in the ninth minute on an assist from Hanna Lovbrand (Orebro, Sweden).

Milligan took 15 shots to Wesleyan’s seven, and goalkeeper Rosanna Couture (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) recorded five saves for the shutout.

The Lady Buffs improve to 10-7 on the year with the victory, and will advance to the semifinal round to play top-seeded Covenant College, who defeated Bryan College earlier today, at 11:30 a.m. in Lookout Mountain, Ga.
