BREVARD, NC (September 25, 2006)---The Milligan College women’s soccer team defeated NCAA Div. II Brevard College by a score of 3-2 on Monday evening in Brevard, N.C.

Dagmar Arnardottir (Kopvagur, Iceland) got the scoring started with a goal off of a penalty kick to put Milligan out to an early lead.

Arnardottir then assisted Kristin Zutt (Louisville, Ky.) who scored the second goal.

A Hanna Lovbrand (Orebro, Sweden) goal on an assist from Zutt, put the Lady Buffs ahead by a score of    3-0.

Milligan controlled the ball for much of match, out shooting Brevard by a count of 12-5. 

Brevard managed to tack on two goals late in the second half to bring the final score to 3-2.

The win improves Milligan’s record to 5-4. The Lady Buffs remain 2-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play.

Milligan Lady Buffs’ soccer will again be in action on Wednesday, Sept. 27, in Bristol, Va., against AAC foe Virginia Intermont College at 5 p.m.
