MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (October 31, 2006) ---Hanna Lovbrand (Orebro, Sweden) was named the 2006 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Freshman of the Year when the conference awards were announced yesterday.

Lovbrand made an incredible contribution to the Lady Buffs this season, scoring 13 goals and notching 10 assists. She, along with teammate Dagmar Arnardottir (Kopvagur, Iceland) were first team All-AAC selections. Arnardottir led the Lady Buffs with 19 goals and 12 assists.

Milligan’s Rosanna Couture (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) and Jenna Zutt (Louisville, Ky.) were named second team All-AAC selections, while senior Kristin Zutt (Louisville, Ky.) was a third team selection.

The Lady Buffs were also well represented on the Academic All Conference team, nabbing five selections. Megan Elrod (Louisville, Ky.), Laurie Selman (Jackson, Miss.), Sarah Sereno (Williamsport, Penn.), Beth Toner (Rote, Penn.) and Couture were those receiving the honor.

Milligan was eliminated from the AAC Tournament with a loss in the semi-final round to top-seeded Covenant College by a score of 2-0.
